Blurb from Goodreads: Jane Austen meets New Adult fiction in this compulsively readable romance.

“Today is not the day I die.”

Ari Demos starts every day with this thought. Fresh out of high school, she’s landed a coveted role as a stunt double in a new Pride and Prejudice adaptation starring the Hollywood phenomenon Weston Spencer. But this job isn’t going to be easy: Ari will be performing complicated water stunts and driving fast cars along the narrow cliffs of Corfu. One false step and she could lose not only her job, but her life.

And then Wes Spencer, Mr Darcy himself, arrives in Greece. He’s got dirty blonde hair, a mile-long yacht and a bored look on that gorgeous face. Ari wants nothing to do with the rich actor boy, but on the day she meets him, she has an accident. One that almost claims her life. And now she can’t hide from the truth any longer:
She might be much closer to losing everything than she thought. She might be dying. And the British actor is the last person she’d expect to save her life.

She’s a hard-working island girl. He’s adored by millions.
Falling in love was never supposed to be a part of the job.
Staying alive was never supposed to be a part of growing up.

Was this story ever meant for a happily ever after?

Review:~

Cover Page:  I. Love. That. Cover. Page. It is really beautiful and catchy.

9/10

Plot: Maybe it started as most books start but yeah, it ended in a different way. What I liked about the plot is that it starts from where, usually, most books end. It was loaded with emotions and romance.

Writing:

  • People don’t say what they mean very often. You have to read between the lines of their behavior, of what they say, to get to what they truly feel. That’s what good literature is all about– what Austen did better than anyone.
  • There’s such an intimate kind of beauty in the act of listening to music being created right in front of your eyes, watching the notes fly off the performers’ fingertips, the night enveloping you like a blanket.
  • I’m drowning on dry land.
  • If He loved me at my darkest, and someone must have, because believe me, my darkest was very dark indeed and many people have said I had no business surviving it…But if He loved me during that, then He sure was the right person to talk to right now.
  • There’s a kind of magic in trying something that has never been done before; something that makes us all work like a team, as one person.

Overall : This book tore me apart. I was so much failing at keeping my tears at bay while reading. The book is fabulously written with so much emotions.

Characters are so good and connected. I loved how real they felt, not just a fiction. Writing is as usual amazing too. This is third book from the Frank that I’ve read and I can bet, it didn’t disappoint me in any way. It didn’t jump from one scene to another. A plus point is that this book starts from where most books end in this genre. This gives a reality check to all the readers. I was so overwhelmed reading the second part of the book as it was the main book. Sure, first half was interesting too but I do think second half is what that get me.

Only drawback, stopping me from giving it 10 out of 10 is, at some places it became overly dramatic. I’m a fantasy reader so it might be that.

Would recommend this book to everyone. Read it irrespective of the season, you’ll love it.
